Traditionally back in the early 20th century, or until the year 1930s, Halloween was mostly dominated by the young male tricksters. The candies offered were usually in the form of corn or tiny sugar capsules or toffies. Then in ’30s, the pranksters moved into cities which it became damaging. And finally in the year 1936 few civic groups approached with an idea of ‘trick or treat’ where the kids would look for treats, put in their costumes and even attend parties.

The original treats of Halloween were purely made in home such as doughnuts and balls made of popcorns. It’s only when the United States got affianced in the World War II, sugar became prorated, which made trick or treat totally break. And then after the war was over, the celebrations came back in a giant manner.

Candy manufacturing organizations soon understood that homemakers could easily give away the packed treats rather than prepare treat all by themselves. And in the mid of1950s, there used to be so many ads from candy giant’s like Mars, Hershey’s and Brach’s in the magazines.

And still trick and treats are the most famous part of Halloween. Many parents choose to take their kids to zoos or farms to a trick or treat. And in this  Covid pandemic situation we all are forced to keep up social distancing. The Halloween candies will be given from a distance to the children who approach them for a trick and treat.
