Kandy City Hotel by Earl’s Review & Honest Experience (Sri Lanka)

We arrived at this hotel in Kandy around 7:30 pm on the day 1 of our Sri Lanka trip. If you want, you can check out our Sri Lanka itinerary or Sri Lanka day 1 vlog for more. Both things linked at the end of this post.

Kandy City Hotel by Earl’s Review – Location:

Kandy City Hotel is located at the heart of Kandy city, close to the main market, city center and 10 mins drive from Temple of Sacred Tooth Relic.

Kandy City Hotel by Earl’s Review – First Impression:

The moment we entered, I felt like it is such a small boutique hotel, perhaps room also will not be that good but we were so tired that we decided to stay back here only and not think of switching the hotel.

Kandy City Hotel by Earl’s Review – Accommodation:

My room exuded an air of comfort and sophistication. The blend of modern amenities and subtle Sri Lankan touches created a serene retreat after a day of exploration. The room was small as expected but it was good. The plush bedding ensured a restful sleep, while the spacious bathroom boasted luxurious amenities, inviting relaxation. Yes, the bathroom was as big as the room, it had a bathtub, gyser and all the required amenities.

We opted for a city view room and so, we could see bustling city and a beautiful church right from our window.

Kandy City Hotel by Earl’s Review – Dining Experience:

I am a vegetarian and because of this, the options were less.

For dinner, we ordered vegetable noodles, veg soup and white sauce pasta. I won’t say it was bad but it was not that good either, means enough to fill the stomach.

For breakfast, I just had fried rice and salad and that too, not what I like. So, I decided to eat 2-3 bites only and just had coffee.

Kandy City Hotel by Earl’s Review – Hospitality and Service:

Throughout my stay, the impeccable hospitality of the staff at Kandy City Hotel truly stood out. The room service was really quick. The staff was warm and welcoming.

The hotel doesn’t have a parking but if you plan to hire a car for the entire trip, like I did, then you need not to worry because drivers manage things by themselves.

We just had to stay for a night, like 7:30 pm checking and 9:00 am checkout, for this duration, the hotel was really good. It is a budget-friendly, safe and clean hotel.

The cost I paid for 1 night was 7200 INR with meals.

You can book it from any online trusted platform like MMT or Booking.com

Overall, my stay was short and it was good. Only food was not that great, I wish I had carried cup noodles like my previous international trips.

All in all, if you too had to just stay in the hotel to sleep comfortably and then checkout next morning, then its good. For 2-3 stays long stay, I would prefer looking for other options, especially if you are a vegetarian.
