When Life Gives You Adversity… #KhudKoKarBuland Ft. Birla Sun Life

You cannot plan or control things in life. When anything has to go wrong, it will go wrong! But what is surely in your hands is to plan and be ready to face the situation. Highs and lows are a part of life, but as it is said the show must go on… We can win if we really want to and we can prepare if we keep the worst case scenarios in consideration!

I just came across this video by Birla Sun Life Insurance which perfectly defines how important it is to be prepared in order make a difference.

Speaking of which, I would like to share a small incident with you all. This incident might not seem big, but when it happened with me, it made a huge difference in my life. I was in the final year of my post-graduation. As you all know, I have done masters in journalism and mass communication from Amity University. To tell you all, Amity is very strict when it comes to rules and regulations. In this final year, we have a 600 points presentation. That is 1 presentation which decides the fate of the student. That single presentation can make or break one’s career as that presentation is to be done in front of the VC, director and industry professionals.

I worked really on the presentation as the subject I chose to present was on a radio show. I had to present a radio show including how the work is being done in a radio office, how things are prepared, pre-production of the show, production, delivering the show and all other aspects related to a radio show. I felt like a one woman army who has to do ALL the tasks by herself.

Just before the presentation had to start, I connected my laptop with the projector but it didn’t connect. Two or three more students came to help me but all in vain. I tried not to lose my cool but I felt like everything was lost. We stopped the teacher from announcing my name on the stage to begin the presentation. We tried to connect to another projector with my laptop but it didn’t work as well. And then, something even worse happened- my laptop crashed and wouldn’t restart.

I was almost about to cry but suddenly I realized that I have saved a copy of my presentation in my pen drive. I checked the pen drive in another system and it worked. We successfully connected another PC to the projector and my presentation was really successful. I scored 580 points for that and was declared as the second topper of the batch!

All I want to tell you is to be prepared for worst case scenarios in life. I don’t know what my state of mind was when I saved a copy of my presentation in pen drive. But I did! I prepared for the worst which saved me.

I hope you got my message clearly! All you need to do is #KhudKoKarBuland to fight all adversities in life.
