Best Hindi Patriotic Movies

  • The Legend of Bhagat Singh

I had to start the list with his one! Starring Ajay Devgan as Shaheed Bhagat Singh, this touch truly heart-touching and gives a raw peak into the Indian history before Independence.

  • Border

This is a recreation of Longhewalla battle from 1971 and I think it is the best of Indian war cinema that evokes patriotism like never before!

  • Swades

Storytelling par excellence, Swades is one of its kind movie that again evokes the sense of patriotism and love of motherland.

  • Prahaar

One of the most perfectly made movies on the Indian army, it tells the story of a Jawaan who even as he adjusts to life as a civilian cannot abandon his sense of morality and discipline as he does it.

  • Lakshya

Another patriotic movie that suits our generation of which is full of aimless youth and the moment of realization when they decide that they want to fight for our motherland. Social message given in a very relatable way, that’s Lakshya for you!

  • Purab aur Paschim

Manoj Kumar giving it back to the west making us feel so proud about our country, this movie is a must watch!

  • Naya Daur

Dilip Kumar’s classic movie Naya Daur is all about newly-independent India and how man-power is being replaced by machines that effects the livelihood of farmers and is all about their struggles and love for India. A must watch!

  • Hindustani

Kamal Hassan in double role, Hindustani is a wonderful movie that is all about how 1 Indian decides to fight corruption and takes their case and he is not even sparing his son when it’s about his country!

  • Gadar- Ek prem katha

An unusual love-story during the time of partition and Hindu-Muslim riots, Gadar is an awesome movie. I mean, how can we forget Sunny paaji’s famous dialogue – Humara Hindustan Zindabad tha, Zindabad hai aur Zindabad rahega and then that hand-pump scene. Taaliya bajti rehni chaiye..!!

  • Roja

This movie and it’s scene when Arvind Swamy tried to save an Indian flag from catching on fire, is one of the most rousing moments for an Indian in the history of cinema. Agree?

  • Bombay

Released in 1995, this movie gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. It about the communal riots in Bombay.

  • Chak de India

Keeping our nation above our caste, religion, creed, state, district and bringing laurels to its name, this is all Chak de India is all about.

  • Lagaan

People often argue if we can list Lagaan as a patriotic movie? Of-course we can! It’s all about how Britishers used to torture Indians before India got independence, how they made life of farmers miserable and obviously, how Indians gave it back to them with a bang and victory.

  • Baby

One of the recent Hindi movies that is all about love and passion for India and the fight against terrorism. This is Akshay kumar’s best so far and obviously, my favourite!

  • URI – the surgical strike

How’s the josh people? 🙂

Apart from these movies, I would also like to mention Kranti, Dangal, The Ghazi Attack, Parmanu – the story of Pokhran, Zameen, Gandhi, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Gold, Kesari, Nayak, Phir Bhi Dil hai Hindustani and LOC Kargil also as these are also some really good Hindi Patriotic movies.

Special mention for Namaste London, I know it’s love story but how can we not mention the scene when Akshay Kumar gives a speech about India to Mr. Pringles during the party and obviously, Rishi kapoor singing Goro ki humne bajai 😀

Jai Hind!
