Professor Minerva McGonagall, who is the future Headmistress of Hogwarts and also Head of Gryffindor house. She was a Scottish half-blood witch, the only daughter of Muggle Robert McGonagall and witch Isobel Ross. She always has her student’s best goals at heart all the time. She sometimes may seem high-spirited or ironic, but eventually, she is honestly very kind. As she is one of the best teachers at the school, she gives out some really brilliant guidance. She is a perfectionist for the rules, so her knowledge might always originate from the correct place but can rarely be a slight infuriating. The character of Professor McGonagall in Harry Potter movies is played by. brilliant Maggie Smith.
Here are some moments when professor McGonagall truly won our hearts:
1. The first scene when she had called Harry and Ron out – “If I transfigured Mr. Potter and you into a watch, then one of you might be on time.”
2. The way she put her words – “I will not have you besmirching that name by behaving like a babbling, bumbling band of baboons.”
3. When she prompted one and all informally of her authority –
Professor McGonagall – “This match has been cancelled.”
Wood – “But you can’t cancel quidditch.”
Professor McGonagall – “Silence Wood.” The care and concern on her face is so heart-warming!
4. When she checks whether Harry had the best Broomstick –
Harry – “It’s a broomstick.”
Ron – “That’s not just a broomstick.”

5. When she put Umbridge in her place – “Something you would like to say dear?” “Oh, there are several things I would like to say.”
6. Hermione and Ron said what she thought – “Why is it when something happens, it is always you three?”
7. When she forgets to intimidate Harry about the Yule Ball Dance – Professor McGonagall – “To dance. It’s traditional that three champions… Well in this case, four. Are the first to dance. Surely I told you that?”
Harry – “No.”
And lastly and my most favourite scene, when in the last part of the Harry Potter, she commands the guards of the Hogwarts to do their duty and then she smiles like a kid saying ‘I always wanted to do this spell’. Felt super cute!
