I love Goa! And who doesn’t? The vibes of Goa are totally different. It is fun, quirky and hip and at the same time, it is peaceful, serene and warm. I never get tired of Goa and would you believe, if I tell you that I actually execute all my Goa plans? Whether it is beach hopping or relaxing at the shacks or exploring the old monuments, the beautiful churches and villages or trying the adventure activities in Goa, I love this place for every unique experience that it offers.
Since I am more of an explorer and less of a party person, I prefer trying new activities. I travel to get to know the place, its history, culture and stories in depth. While people often plan Goa trips for beaches, pubs and parties, Goa has many adventure activities to offer as well. Yes! Adventure activities in Goa! And trust me, you get to have the best experience here.
In this post, I am sharing the best adventure activities in Goa you must try the next time you visit. Although there are over 20 adventure activities, in this post, I am sharing the top 7 (and my personal favourites) off-beat adventure activities in Goa.
1. Explore Goa on an E-bike tour
Wondering what’s so adventurous in an e-bike tour? Well as you all know, I love Goa not just for its beaches and shacks, but also for its beautiful churches, historical monuments and culture. It has so much to explore, and what can be a better way than to go on an e-bike tour. It is a perfect way to explore the nooks and corners of Goa and become friends with the lanes and monuments. The thrill of riding an e-bike on the roads of Goa with witnessing all the beautiful landscapes while learning about the place is something that you cannot miss. Adventure is not just about getting an adrenaline rush but it is also about exploring new things in a new place. I highly recommend this to everyone who visits Goa, even if you are not a slow traveller.
2. Bungee Jumping in Goa
Yes, Goa now has a Bungee Jumping site. Jumpin Heights, located in Mayem Lake in North Goa which is just about 30 minutes away from Baga Beach, is an amazing way to get an adrenaline rush as you get to jump from a height of 55 meters. It is owned and managed by ex-Army officers in order to ensure flawless safety procedures. The age limit is from 12 yrs to 45 yrs and the person should weigh between 40 kgs to 110 kgs. People with medical conditions such as backaches, heart problems, BP, fractures, etc. are not allowed though. Imagine jumping from such a height, over a beautiful lake surrounded by a lush green jungle!
3. Surfing in Goa
One thing that I have always wanted to learn is surfing AKA surfboarding and Goa seems to be a perfect place for the same! Surfing in Goa is good for newbies and beginners. You can take surfing classes as there are many surfing schools for a quick crash course and then once you are ready, the waves are all yours. The best beaches for surfing in Goa are Arambol, Morjim, Ashwem and Agonda. Also, surfing in Goa is on from October till May and shuts down for the rest of the year. So yes, now is a perfect time to plan for your Goa trip if Surfing is on your wishlist.
4. Parasailing in Goa
I remember my first time parasailing. It was super fun and such a memorable experience. But that was on land. Here in Goa, we get to experience winch boat parasailing where you fly over the water. And the best thing about this is, you can experience winch boat parasailing on almost all famous beaches such as Calangute Beach, Candolim Beach, Baga Beach and many more.
5. Water Sports in Goa
Apart from surfing, there are over 25 water sports in Goa for all the adventure enthusiasts and water sports lovers. You can try kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling, jet-skiing, speed boarding, water zorbing, flyboarding, banana boat rides, wakeboarding, kitesurfing, stand up paddle, windsurfing and lots more. Goa is indeed a water sports paradise!
6. Motorized Paragliding
This is one of the most popular adventure sports that is emerging very rapidly. It is a form of paragliding where you get to fly on a motor-cart along with a pilot. In short, you fly up to witness the beautiful world from 1000 ft above. The season of operation for motorized paragliding is from October till May.
7. Hot Air Balloon Ride in Goa
Hot Air Balloon ride has always been on top of my bucket list. Now that it has been introduced in Goa, I just can’t wait to try it. Situated at the Assolda Football Ground in Chandor, this ride is an amazing way to witness the beautiful 360-degree views from the peak elevation of 2000 feet. I am so thankful to Goa tourism for introducing this. Goa has always been my favourite and with this addition, I just can’t wait to be there again!
