Hey everyone! If you are following me on my social channels, you must be knowing that I was in Nainital last week. This time, it was not my regular holiday home where we always stay, but it was a Swiss Cottage named boutique hotel.
Swiss Cottage is located near Raj Bhawan in Nainital. It is approx 1 km away from the Mall Road. This is a budget boutique resort. I totally loved the location of this resort. Though it doesn’t have a lake view from has mountain view. In fact, you’ll be staying amidst mountains when staying here. I found it really peaceful and serene, perfect to escape the chaos.
The hotel has 2 types of rooms, 1 type is regular luxury rooms and the other is cottage option. We opted to stay in cottage which was a set of 2 rooms with attached dressing room & washroom to both, a living area, dining area, a kitchen (with utensils, gas & fridge) and balcony. This made us feel home away from home. There was also another cottage which didn’t have kitchen with fridge. This was our cottage!
The regular rooms were also of decent space & required amenities. The below picture is of regular luxury rooms.
The hotel actually gives you a feeling of Swiss cottage. The garden, little nooks with little plants, old wooden art pieces, rustic decor, antique collection and everything makes you feel so swiss-esy (I know that’s not a word, never mind!)

There is also free Wi-Fi which helps this place earn a brownie point. In-room dining as well as buffet is available there. Also, the place is pet friendly. This means, you can take your pet along and the staff will welcome it with love. The ample parking space is perfect for the ones who prefer travelling with their own vehicles. The staff is really humble and hospitality is warm. The owners of the hotel live right next to the cottage and are often available for tea & chit-chat.
All in all, my experience with Swiss Cottage was really good. The staff was friendly with us as well as my dog Ronnie (one of them took him for a walk too. Isn’t it just sweet!).
