The side of Pune that I explored in this recent trip of mine, made me fall for this city. I can say that I like Pune and what impressed me even more and gave me a reason to re-visit this city was this furniture & hardware store called Ra Lifestyles -The Power Of Beauty.
Situated in Kumar City of Kalyani Nagar in Pune, this huge bunglow-turned-furniture-store has everything that you can imagine for your house. Yes, I can bet on that. The store is owned by Shekhar Shah Sir and his son Mihir Shah who will personally meet & greet you when you visit the store. This is a massive 8000-square-feet store which makes it the biggest independent furniture & hardware store in Maharashtra. The father son duo are passionate about interiors and therefore, they moved to Pune (from Mumbai) for setting up Ra. Just like you, even I was curious to know what RA means. Upon asking the same, Shekhar uncle explained that they were looking for a short and easy name so they decided to name the store Ra which means Egyptian Sun God.
Ra offers indoor as well as outdoor furniture items which is sourced from all across the nation. The products displayed here have a tag with not just price written on it, but it also has the dimensions of the product mentioned. The furniture displayed here has a unique blend of modern, chic, rustic, antique, contemporary and industrial.
After taking a quick tour around the store, I was kind of spellbound as the collection here was SUPER. Every room of this bunglow-turned-store has a unique artsy vibes to it. From wooden furniture, handcrafted tables, old-school chandeliers to modern and chic tables, beds and restored antique units, this store something for every one.
And oh, you should have a look at their quirky, unique and designer range of knobs, coasters, and hooks. There are over 1000 variety of furniture and decor items. Beds, tables, lamps, wardrobes, chairs, swings, chandeliers, room partitions, gazebos, bars, doors, ascent pieces and what not; you name it and it’s there in this store. And oh, how can I forget the huge collection of vintage clocks, wall decor pieces, mosaic lamps and quirky table tops.
They have recently a new venture of hardware which has a designer range of items like knobs, coasters, shelves, hooks, handles, bottle openers, wine bottle closures and lots more. At least 50 to 75 designs are added to the store,so that the versatility of this place can be maintained.
Surprisingly, all of this doesn’t cost stars and moon. Yes, the items available here are affordable too.
Another thing that makes Ra Lifestyles a unique store is the hardware department where they offer furniture makeover. So just in case you don’t wish to buy a new furniture item, you can simply visit Ra and ask them to give your furniture a fresh and designer makeover.
No wonder why this store has a huge fan following and have clients from not just Pune but outstation too. After visiting the store, I was not at all surprised when Mr. Mihir told me that their regular clients list includes renowned personalities like Jackie Shroff, Prachi Desai, Raveena Tandon, Royal family of Kolhapur, Abhijeet Pawar -MD of Sakaal times, eminent members of Parliament and lots of other lawyers, doctors and business tycoons.
