My Visit to Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari

Enthralling experience and extraordinary spectacular view was really the perfect achievement of my life visiting to Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Kanyakumari. Kanyakumari is known as land’s end of our country. The tip point of India is blessed with the unique features and natural water masses touching its land and the shores.

It is famous for its location where all the three water bodies of the Arabian Sea, bay of Bengal and the Indian Ocean meet.

“Seeing is believing” I have heard the tales about the enchantment and the unique beauty of the place but I think it is beyond imagination to describe my feelings and what I had acquired after visiting Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Kanyakumari.

All the disciples and devotees of Shri RamaKrishna Thakur had accompanied me to understand the insight story and the meanings of each of the temple features, sculptures and rocks around. The Vivekananda Rock Memorial is located on a rock.

The memorial was built in 1970 in honor of the visit of Swami Vivekananda to Shri Pada Parai. The guide explained that Swami Vivekananda meditated in this particular rock and attained enlightenment. The architectural splendor of the mandapans, prakaram with the magnificent statue of Swami Vivekananda kept me surprise-stricken.

gEarly morning the next day of my visit I went to view the sunrise at the beach where hundreds of other visitors were already present. I settled along with my other friends in my booked boat which roared on the Bay of Bengal.

You will be able to see merging of Bay of Bengal, Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean from this wonderful place.

The early morning travelling and experiencing the sun rising from the sea was extremely fabulous and too much fun. I already scheduled my tour as per the full moon date. So I got the scope to see the sunrise and sunset at the same time.

Seeing sunset and sunrise from a same place is amongst the most rarest views that once can witness, And I am glad that I got to see it. It was indeed a pleasure visiting Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Kanyakumari.

And now, some pics for you to enjoy!
