Holi party is one of the most fun parties and much awaited for many. Even Holi house parties are super fun to be in. From the movie Silsila, released in 1981 starring Amitabh Bachchan, Rekha, Sanjeev Kumar and Jaya Bachchan, this is the one of the most iconic Holi songs ever. Playlist is surely incomplete without this one!
Holi ke din dil mil jaate hai:
rango me rang mil jaate hai… And this song too, from the movie Sholey, released in 1977, again starring Amitabh Bachchan along with Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan and Hema Malini. Holi ke din is indeed a must-include song in your playlist of Holi songs.

Hori khele raghuveera:
Seems like Amitabh ji just loves this festival of colours and it’s vibes, maybe that is why he is starring in most of the iconic Holi songs, just like the previous two songs and this one as well. By the way, this song is from the movie Baghban released in 2003, starring Amitabh Bachchan, Hema Malini and their 4 (on-screen) Nalayak bacche + 1 (again, on-screen) layak baccha (Salman Khan). #kidding
Balam Pichkari:
Here comes one of my most favourite songs from one of my favourite movies – Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, released in 2013, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone.
Aaj na chodenge:
Let’s go back to 1971, when Rajesh Khanna’s movie Kati patang was released, yes the song is from this movie only. This is a very mellow and cute Holi song, perfect to dance with your crush. Ya?

Do me a favour, let’s play holi:
I can hear Anu Malik’s voice singing do me favour, let’s play holi while writing this, I swear. hehe. By the way, this song is from the movie Waqt: race against time, released in 2005, starring Amitabh bachchan (again, but he is not in this holi song though) and Akshay Kumar with Priyanka Chopra.
Soni Soni:
Oh I love this song! It’s from Mohabbatein, starring SRK, Aishwarya Rai, Amitabh Bachchan and so many other actors. And I love the movie as well!
Are ja re hat natkhat:
You know, I was in 6th standard when I first heard this song. I had a duet dance performance for my school’s annual function and this was the song. Since then I have just admired this Holi song for it’s grace and beauty. It’s a very beautiful song. The movie is Navrang which was released in 1959 starring Sandhya ji.
Jai Jai Shiv Shankar:
We are talking about Holi songs, how can I not mention this song from the movie War starring my favourite Hrithik Roshan and Tiger shroff! This song perfectly sets up the holi mood and super fun to dance on. Agree?
