Manali is a beautiful hill station located in the northern Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. It is situated in the Beas River Valley and is surrounded by the majestic Himalayas. Manali is a popular tourist destination known for its scenic beauty, adventure activities, and pleasant weather.
Some of the popular tourist attractions in Manali include the Rohtang Pass, Solang Valley, Hadimba Temple, Vashisht Temple and hot springs, Manu Temple, and the Beas Kund trek. The Rohtang Pass is a high mountain pass that connects Manali to the Lahaul and Spiti valleys and is known for its stunning views of the surrounding mountains.
Solang Valley is a popular destination for adventure activities such as paragliding, skiing, and zorbing. Hadimba Temple is an ancient temple dedicated to the goddess Hadimba and is known for its unique architecture and beautiful surroundings.
Manali is a great place if you are willing to escape for a week. I love it for its scenic beauty, the apple orchards, beautiful mountains and handicrafts. The region has a rich tradition of handicrafts and handlooms which is like a treat to Shopaholics like me. Shopping in Manali itself is an experience.
If you are going shopping in Manali, then don’t forget to look out for interesting curious, antiques and knick-knacks for your home, and for souvenirs. I would strongly recommend driving down to the Rohtang Pass. Remember the song ‘Yeh Ishq Haye’ from Jab We Met (Bollywood Movie), The Highway & Road shown in that song is Rohtang Pass.
You must also visit the Himdimba Devi Temple, and relax by the river flowing next to it. It’s a great spot to chill out and admire the beauty of the nature. At Model Town, the Tibetan Monastery is a major attraction. It has a good collection of Tibetan Handicrafts as well as Tibetan Paintings.
Manali is also known for its pleasant weather throughout the year, making it a popular destination for both summer and winter vacations. The best time to visit Manali is from March to June when the weather is pleasant and the flowers are in full bloom.
Tip : Do carry a pair of comfortable shoes, if you go trekking. And I would suggest, don’t miss the trekking experience in Manali. It is a wonderful experience.
