Nainital is my most favourite places in India, second is Goa followed by Ladakh, Manali & Alleppey amongst many many places in India. Since I have been to Nainital more than 30 times (yep, because it was my dad’s favourite place and we used to go to Nainital every long weekend), I have explored every nearby place to visit in Nainital. Located just about 20 kms from Nainital city, this ashram is even famous amongst the top multi-billionaires of the world include Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Apple co-founder & chairman of Apple, (Late) Steve Jobs. Yes, they have said in their interviews that they visited this serene Kainchi dham temple and this is where they found their right purpose of life and the way to make it to the top.
So, who was Neem Karoli baba?
Neem Karoli Baba or Neeb Karori Baba was a saadhu and a devotee of Hanuman ji. He was born in Akbarpur in and died in Vrindavan in Uttar Pradesh. It is believe that if you stay in this ashram for some time and meditate, you are sure to find a purpose to your life and you might manifest whatever you want, if that is good for you.
Though I have not experienced any manifestations here but since this ashram is located at such a peaceful place, surrounded by beautiful mountains with the river flowing by the ashram, away from the hustle bustle of the city, I visit this temple again and again.
I spend at least an hour here, just soaking into the serenity of the nature.
Also, there are many nice food joints, actually dhabas around this temple, so you can also go and eat there, over-looking at this beautiful temple and the mountains.
How can one stay in Kainchi Dham temple?
If you want to stay at the ashram, you will have to write to the manager, seeking his permission for stay and availability of rooms. For better chances of getting a positive revert, you can get a reference letter from the ashram devotees and members along with your purpose of coming to the ashram. People are only allowed to stay for a maximum of 3 days at the ashram.
There are many hotels and home-stays that are at the walkable distance from the ashram. You may simply go there and get a room for yourself.

Since the temple is located at the outskirts of Nainital, the only way to reach here is by road. So, either you can go by your private vehicle or book a taxi, or go by a public conveyance like bus, mini bus, travellers.

All year around, it looks beautiful and is sure to rejuvenate your soul.
