One of the world’s finest national parks, it celebrates the efforts of hunter-turned-wildlife conservator Jim Corbett to establish a protected area for highly endangered creatures. Jim Corbett National Park is the first game park to be declared a Tiger Reserve in 1973, under the worldwide Project Tiger.
Spread over 1.318 sq km, the park comprises the Corbett National Park, Sonanadi Wildlife Sanctury and Reserve Forest of Nainital and Pauri Garhwal-Patlidun area in the Himalayan foothills. On the way to Jim Corbett National Park, you can also visit the Jim Corbett Museum and the Corbett waterfalls.
You can stay at the tree houses or go on a safari inside the National Park. Its a place that will bring you a step closer to nature. And who knows, if you are lucky, you will encounter few deer, Peacocks, Wild Elephants or a TIGER!
I stayed in Namah Luxury Resort which is situated inside the jungle premises. As I said previously, you can stay in a tree house or opt for camping inside the jungle. We went for a jeep safari which is an 8 hours day-tour. We didn’t spot a tiger but the vibe and jungle experience was really good. We could feel the silence and serenity of nature inside the core area.
