Sariska Tiger Reserve is one of the most popular tiger reserves in India. It is a home to many tigers and leopards including ST Yuvraj tiger. Sariska is also a great option for a short weekend trip from Delhi. It takes about 3.5-4 hours drive from Delhi to reach Sariska depending upon the traffic. I stayed in Gulmohar Sariska Resort and this post is all about my experience, stay and other important details.
About Gulmohar Sariska:
Gulmohar Sariska resort is located in Viratnagar which is about 22 km from Sariska Tiger Reserve, Gate 1. There are mainly 2 gates of Sariska Tiger Reserve – Gate 1 (Sariska Gate) and Gate 2 (Tehla Gate).
This resort is a huge, lush and beautiful, spread in 10 acres amidst the Aravalli hills and Sariska jungle.
Gulmohar Sariska Resort Review & Experience:
This resort is massive, with 3 huge gardens, dairy and organic farm and shooting range within the premises. What I really liked about this resort is its options of accommodation. One can choose from staying in room or cottages or premium swiss tents. I opted for premium swiss tent.
There are 3 sections of this resort, the main building, the cottages and the tents. Every section has a beautiful garden and all rooms have a good view.
My most favourite was obviously the amla garden which had the beautiful swiss tents all around it.
The tents were beautiful, spacious and had all the required amenities including the TV, fridge, cupboards, Gyser and AC. I simply loved the experience of staying in the swiss tents. The decor was all Rajasthani and vibes were warm and cozy.
They also have 24×7 room service, free wifi and free parking.
Other highlights of this resort is the swimming pool, kids activity area, law of events such as weddings, conferences etc., shooting range, organic and dairy farm and indoor game zone (pool, air hockey etc.).
I felt so impressed when I heard about the organic farm and over 200 types of plants within the premises. This is a very good example of responsible tourism. Talked about it more in my article published on ResponsibleYatri.org.
The restaurant had both vegetarian food as well as non-vegetarian food options. Right outside the resort is Gulmohar Express, which is a pure vegetarian restaurant.
You can also ask the management for special arrangements such as bonfire, candle light dinner, DJ and camel rides. The resort also helps in tailor made packages.
The resort is not just great for an a relaxing short vacations but also a good option for destination weddings, office outing, educational trips, family vacations, romantic escapes and community getaways.
Location is really good as you can not just go to Sariska Tiger Reserve, but also explore the Alwar tourist attractions as well which is about 65 km from the resort.
The staff was polite and welcoming.
The resort also has a souvenir shop from where you can buy or bulk-buy handicrafts.
All in all, my experience with Gulmohar Sariska Resort was 5/5. I can say this is indeed the best luxury budget resort in Sariska.
