How to reach Sariska Tiger Reserve?

Sariska Tiger Reserve is located in Alwar district of Rajasthan, India. It is about 200 km from Delhi and 110 km from Jaipur. It is good getaway from Delhi and Jaipur.

Nearest airport is Jaipur airport which is about 100 km while Delhi airport is also in a close proximity if you are coming from other states.

Nearest railway station to Sariska is Sawai Madhopur which is about 11 km away from the tiger reserve.

The most convenient way to reach Sariska is to travel by road.

I travelled by my personal car. It took about 5 hours for us to reach Sariska from Delhi. We took 1 hours lunch break on the highway.

Where to stay in Sariska Tiger Reserve?

There many option near the tiger reserve. If you search for a hotel or resort on a website or app, put destination either Sariska or Alwar. Alwar city is about 45 km from Sariska tiger reserve. Sometimes, you are unable to find suitable properties in Sariska, reason maybe over-budget or sold out or shady hotels. In that case, you can look for hotels in Alwar but keep in mind that it will take around 1.5 hours for you to reach the tiger reserve considering the road and traffic conditions.

As I already shared, I stayed in Gulmohar Tiger Reserve, I would suggest you to stay here or any of the tiger reserve camps or resorts.

This is mainly because Sariska is a wildlife destination and if you are going there, you should get into the jungle vibes and make the most of your getaway, instead of staying in a regular hotel just like in cities.

Sariska Tiger Safari Details:

Timings of Jungle safari is

You may either book a seat in Gypsy (₹1600 per person) or full gypsy (6 people capacity, ₹7000-8000). There is another option to travel in a canter which costs about ₹1200 per person.

I would suggest you to book it online or check with your hotel or resort for the same. Some resorts provide this service while some may give you an assistance in getting it booked.

I booked my Sariska Tiger Safari via Sariska Wild Ventures. I had an amazing experience as the process of booking with them is very easy. I will share my detailed review about them in one of the upcoming blogs.

Best Time to Visit Sariska Tiger Reserve: Winters

How many days are enough for this trip?

I stayed for 2 nights as it becomes very tiring that you travel by road and then go to safari and then again travel back the next day. I prefer exploring properly. But if you are okay with such kind of rush-rush (bhaag-daud) then 1 nights is also okay as many people do that! I would suggest 2 nights though. Jungle & nature ka bhi maza lo thoda…
