Documents you need to carry when travelling abroad

International trips are a pure delight. I have so far visited 3 countries and I can’t wait to travel abroad again. I still remember my first international trip, it was to Thailand and I was so naive. I spent hours in researching and making my travel hassle-free. Many countries don’t require visa while some have given this option of visa on arrival and some have other rules, sometimes planning to travel abroad can be a bit tiring. Many people often face hurdles because they don’t read the rules, especially the part where they mention the documents you need to carry when travelling abroad.

Fret not!

In this post, I am sharing the list of important documents that you need to carry when travelling abroad. After 2020, some countries have changes the rules. So, I will be mentioning everything about it here. You can save this post, add to bookmark or pin it, for future reference.

Documents you need to carry when travelling abroad:

  • Passport
  • Tickets
  • Visa
  • Hotel reservation/accommodation confirmation paper
  • travel insurance
  • foreign currency (every country has different minimum required currency, sharing details below)
  • Itinerary details/reason to travel/invitation
  • covid-19 certificate
  • copy of pan card

These are the important document that you must carry when travelling abroad. Every country has different rules for visa, currency and things you can carry.

The most important thing is your TRAVE VISA. This is the most trickiest and tiring thing. Though some countries have visa-on-arrival, but many don’t. I always prefer applying for e-visa via our Indian govt. e-visa website. Not just in India, but there are many trusted sites like k-etavisa.com for Korean visa from where you can get your e-visa done.

Also, you must check the validity of your passport. For example, there is a visa-on-arrival for Qatar but your passport must be valid for at least 6 months.

I will strongly suggest you to go through the embassy and tourism website for all the information.

For example, minimum currency you must have with you when travelling to Thailand should be 10,000 Baht and it should be in CASH but for Nepal, you don’t need to exchange currency.

After 2020, we need to carry a few additional documents, like COVID -19 report, vaccination certificate, etc. This requirement differs from country to country and carrier companies. Therefore, I would suggest you to enquire and check the documents required before a couple of days.

Always carry a soft copy as sometimes, phone & tablets give dhokha, especially if its on your cloud storage.

People often avoid travel insurance. I believe, travel insurance is very important for international travels as you never know what might happen and with travel insurance, you can travel carefree.

I really hope check-list of documents helps!
