These line are from the Most favorite Ghazal of mine sung by Jagjit Singh Ji and is from the album Inteha.
Jagjit ji have sung many other soul-stirring songs and ghazals…Ghazals like “Hontho se chu lo tum”, “Teri Ankho me humne kya dekha”, “tere baare me jab socha nahi tha”, “”Tum Ko Dekha To Yeh Khayal Aaya”, “Yeh Bata De Mujhe Zindagi”, “Tere Khushboo Mein Base Khat”, “Tum Itna Jo Muskura Rahe Ho”, “Aisi Ankhe Nahi Dekhi”, “Vo Kagaz ki Kashti”, are some of his best compositions.
Not only for ghazals, but he is also known for his fusion songs… like ‘Koi Fariyad’, ‘Badi nazuk hai yeh manzil, ‘Kiska Chehra” etc.
Being a Ghazal (Genre) Lover, I have heard many Ghazal singer… but couldn’t found a match to Gulam Ali Ji & Jagjit Ji… Both possessed unique styles and are my favorites!!!

Whenever, anywhere I get a chance to sing a song in public or on demand… I always sing “Apke Dil Ne Hume Awaz Di”… I don’t know the reason… but I am totally in love with this song…
“Ek Lamhe Me Simat Aya, Sadiyo ka Safar… Zindagi Tez, Bohot Tez Chali Ho Jaise…“- these lines from ‘Koi Fariyad’ are damn touching and personally My most Favorite.
It was a shock and a highly depressing moment, when I came to know that we have lost this Ghazal Maestro. I remember, I was in my Photography Class… And was almost into tears on hearing this…
“Wherever you are Jagjit Ji… You will always be remembered and Loved…”
I would like to end this Post with two line of his song from the movie dushman;
“Chitthi Na Koi Sandesh… Jaane Vo Kaun Sa Desh, Jaha Tum Chale Gaye……..”
