I am so happy that one after another month, I am simply ticking my travel resolutions off my list. I visited Coorg, the coffee cup of India and if you follow me on my social media, you know about this trip; if you are not, well you’re missing out on so many things (so, links are at the end of this post). I stayed in this wonderful 5 star resort in Coorg – Coorg wilderness resort & spa.
About Coorg Wilderness Resort & Spa:
Coorg Wilderness Resort and Spa by Paul John Resorts and Hotels, is a 5 star resort in Coorg district is located in Madikeri. This resort is situated amidst a lush coffee estate and beautiful jungles, offering guests a tranquil and rejuvenating experience. This is a lush green resort spread over 60 acres, out of which 52 acres approx. is jungle.
The resort has beautiful Scottish inspired architecture, having 104 elegantly designed rooms in three categories – Grove view studio, Grove view suite & Hill view suite, each offering stunning views of the surrounding hills and forests. The rooms are well-appointed with modern amenities, including flat-screen TVs, minibars, bathtubs, electric fireplace, and private balconies and patios.
The rooms don’t have ACs as their aim is zero carbon emission, but don’t worry the fans in the rooms and proper windows for cross-ventilation keeps the rooms cold and pleasant.
Coorg Wilderness Resort and Spa offers a range of dining options, including Habba, a multi-cuisine restaurant, Vembanad, a coastal cuisine restaurant and Tipse, the bar. Habba is the restaurant where breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet is served. All three dinning places have amazing view to offer.
The resort also features a spa – NIKAAY, that offers a range of rejuvenating treatments and therapies, as well as a fitness center, an infinity swimming pool, and a range of indoor and outdoor activities.
There are various activities that can be done within the premises like Twitcher’s trek (bird watching view), Nature walk, adventure activities, ATV ride, coffee experience etc.
Another highlight of this resort is the sunset point within the premises. There is an approx 1km walk to the sunset point which gives an amazing view of Coorg and beautiful sunset.
They also have a beautiful shop, helipad, animal husbandry and organic farm within the resort premises.
My Experience:
Mine was a grove view suite which was so beautiful and luxurious. I really liked how comfy the bed was and obviously, it had a huge TV so, I felt like I am sorted.
The bathroom was HUGE and made me feel like a princess. Really! and what really impressed me was the bathing items. They had not put some random but had the everything from my Forest Essentials, a brand that I personally trust when it comes to skincare. I also tried their famous floral bath experience (watch this reel to know more) which was amazing. It was my first time and I felt like a therapy.
The food was really good. I am a vegetarian and I loved the food both – North Indian & South Indian.
My room also had a huge balcony, where I sat for hours and worked on my next book. It felt so fresh and positive.
I went to Nikaay for a 60 minutes Swedish massage and it was very rejuvenating. I didn’t know I had so many stress knots, thanks to the experienced staff they got it cleared.
I tried all the activities like adventure activity, ATV ride, treks and walks, it kept me busy and active all through.
What I really liked about this resort was not just the luxurious experience that they provide, but also the fact that they are so climate conscious.
I noticed that they have eco-carts for guests to commute within the premises. Yes the resort is huge and one needs vehicles to go from one place to another. But even the staff was using EV scooties to commute. And for ease of the guests, they also have an EV charging station within.
They practise rain water harvesting and also recycle the waste water to use it for landscaping which is such a wonderful step towards responsible tourism.
The resort is also conveniently located near popular local attractions, such as the Namdroling Monastery (Golden Temple) and the Dubare Elephant Camp.
I believe, Coorg Wilderness Resort and Spa is an ideal destination for those looking for a luxurious and rejuvenating retreat amidst the natural beauty of Coorg. It is suitable for all age-groups and all kinds of getaways – family, romantic, friends.
And if you are planning a corporate outing or a destination event/wedding, this place is very much suitable for the same.
Thanking the team for this wonderful FAM experience.
