If you think that you just have a day or two and you can’t explore Mumbai in such a short time period, then you are wrong!
Mumbai is one of the fascinating and charming places that attracts everyone. Here’s a quick guide about 10 memorable things to do in Mumbai if you have just 2 days!
P.s: If you are travelling during the monsoons, just pray, you don’t get stuck in traffic jams! They are worst than hell! And yes, don’t forget to carry your raincoat or umbrella.
10 Things You Should Definitely Do In Mumbai:
1. Driving across the marine drive
Chowpatty – place to enjoy pavbhaji and bhelpuri. The two are favorite dishes for travellers who come to Mumbai, and Girgaon Chowpatty, which is close to Marine Drive, has the best taste of all. You must also sit till late night in the marine drive to enjoy the serenity of Mumbai. In between, you can also visit the famous Taraporevala fish aquarium.
2. Bollywood – the place of entertainment, style icons, stars and models
Bollywood – which just keeps everyone go boggling and wants to have a glimpse of their favorite star or their acting can be experienced on bolloywood tour. The houses of various stars like Sanjay dutt, Amitabh Bachanan and Shahrukh Khan can be seen on the way. You can even find them waving hands at you from their balcony at times. You can drive/walk at the through bandra, juhu or carter road to spot celebrities. You can visit Prithvi Theatre during the evenings and you might meet some!

The famous ancient temple of the Ganpati to worship Lord Ganesha is located at the Prabha Devi, Mumbai. It is an old temple and it is believed (I do believe too) that here all your wishes come true if prayed from the bottom of your heart.
4. Old Cafes of Mumbai
There are many famous old cafes in Mumbai. You must visit them! Two of my personal favourites are Cafe Mondegar and Leopold Cafe. Both are located in Colaba Causeway market. Also, FYI, both cafes are non-ac and heavily crowded. Plan your visit during the non-rush hours.
5. Bombay Heritage walks
The sight is well known to have a knowledge and research on the past history of Mumbai. Opening from the ‘Fort’ area there are various landmarks- Ballard Estate district, Asiatic Society Library, Horniman Circle Garden, Flora Fountain Circle, Indian Naval Dockyard, Gateway of India and Taj Mahal Hotel.
6. Mouth- watering sea-food experience
First things first, I am a pure-vegetarian girl. But I included this point because one of my friend suggested that my readers who love to relish on non-veg food would love to know about this. So, Those who like the dish of fried and baked shrimps, crabs and pomfret can be satisfied when they visit the Pratap Lunch home. Gomantak house is another place where the goan food are served hot and delicious.
7. Gateway of India and the ferry ride
Obviously, Gateway of India IS the most iconic and popular monument in Mumbai and one must not forget to visit this. But you must also try the ferry ride. Ticket is around 120 rupees for 30-40 minutes ride and it is totally worth as you get a beautiful view of Mumbai skyline.
8. Sea link of Bandra – Worli
The bridge is built to link Bandra and Worli and you will love to go for a ride across the bridge. There is less traffic and you can feel the soft breeze blowing across when you open the window of your car while driving. Though photography is not allowed on the bridge but you can use your phone camera to capture the moment. Also, for a good view of Bandra-Worli Sea Link, you can visit Bandra fort.
9. Elephanta Caves
The Elephanta Caves which can be explored and see beautiful carvings and caves structure of rock cut. There are also sculpture of rock cut which are as old as 5th and 8th century.
10. Racecourse
The Mahalaxmi racecourse is also another place where you find yourself sitting like stars and enjoying the horses racing. Betting for the horses and cheering of crowds will make you enthralled.
