Candles:
Candles are a best way to decorate home and make it more relaxing, especially scented candles. It has been a personal experience that candles soothes the mind and relaxes the body and also, enhances the charm of the room when lit.
Tea-lights:
Tea-lights are also a kind of candles also known as floating candles. These are the best way to set a light mood. They are inexpensive as well and you can easily get them. These tea-lights are not used alone but you need a nice classy tea-light holder for it. Now this holder can either be a bowl filled with water and flower petals, or an essential oil diffuser (explained later in this post) or a designer tea-light holder.
Fresh flowers & plants:
Fresh flowers and plants add positive vibes instantly. Try keeping an indoor plant or bouquet of flowers in your room. These will add natural positive vibes to your room. And if you love flowers, just like me, then keep a rose, sunflower, tulip or any other flower of your choice on your working desk and feel the difference!
Light colours:
No! I am not going to suggest you to re-paint your room to a light colour. Instead, use the room furnishing items such as curtains, bedsheets, cushion covers, sofa covers, throws, faux furs, rugs of light colour. Dark colours give often tends to increase aggression while light colours soothes and relaxes your mind.
Aromatherapy:
Every evening, I do this. Aromatherapy has many benefits including releasing your stress and making you feel relaxed. You can get a tea-light diffuser or use an electric one, but try this for sure. Also, for this you will be needing some essential oils, that are easily available on amazon. My favourite is lavender essential oil btw!

Play relaxing music:
Especially Indian flute, Chinese singing bowl music or some soft jazz. These kind of relaxing music do wonders. Whenever I write, I often play relaxing music in the background. It helps me stay relaxed and also helps me concentrate better.
Soothing decor:
Are you a mountain lover, forest lover or a sea person. Once you know what kind of place you like, get some decor according to that. Suppose you like sea beaches, get some nice sea beach painting for the wall of your room with some sea shell lamps. Same goes for other kind of decor items but make sure whatever you get makes you feel happy and gives you positive vibes because then only it will relax your mind.
Declutter:
This is very important. In order to make your room your space relaxing, you need to declutter and keep it tidy and clean. to help you do this you can rent a dumpster, but what does it cost to rent a dumpster? Really, it depends on where you are and what service you’re using, so it’s best to check online for the latest prices. It is a proven fact that tiny and clean places automatically makes one feel relax even if there are no other elements for relaxation. So, declutter your space should be your first step!
These are tried and testing things that I have shared here. Hope this helps!
