Navratri brings with itself a whole lot of sweets and Indian delicacies. But there are some of us who, due to our health concerns, have to avoid having sweets and high carb dishes.
But we must also not lower our festival zeal by not having dishes of our choice. We can try many snack items which are specially prepared during this season.
There are also people who fast during these 9 days of navratri. So falling back to fruits is not only the option.
You can have parathas or pakoras made out of refined or soyabean oil.
Some people also avoid the intake of onions. But that doesn’t mean you can’t have better food options then. You can still go for aloo pakoras or sabudana khichdi. Bottleguard makes two very delicious meals during this festival. Lauki kheer and lauki halwa are a must try.
You can also go for aloo chaat served as a street foods. Gosh, Aloo Tikki is my favorite. Sabudana vada is one such dish for fasters which cannot be avoided. It would gel in your mouths so easily that you wont even come to know. Also try another street food, i.e. Papri chaat .

One high cholesterol but a very sumptuous dish is the Chhole Bhature. This punjabi dish has long been everyone’s favourites when it comes to snacks list.
