World Music Day is celebrated on 21 June every year to celebrate music and musicians. It was originally known Fete de la Musique and was first celebrated in France in 1982 but later it became popular in the world and people started calling it as World Music Day.
On this day, people express their love for music. Young and aspiring musicians are also encouraged to perform and showcase their talents on this day. Music concerts and meet-ups are organised in the local community centres and neighbourhood parks. World Music Day often coincides with the Summer Solstice, another great day for feasts and festivities.
History of World Music Day
The first World Music Day was celebrated in 1982 on the summer solstice in Paris, France by the (then) French Minister of Culture Jack Lange. It was named as Fete De La Musique. This celebration later became popular in all countries around the world as World Music Day.
World Music Day Quotes
These are some of my original music quotes. If you are new to this blog, then I must tell you that I am huge music lover and I strongly believe that music heals. My dad was a passionate music lover and he taught me the basics of music, the sargams and variations. Both of my parents were amazing singers and I feel I have got the love for music from my parents only. I also wrote a novel VOICEMATES is India’s first musical novel about reality show. It’s a story of the girl named Tulip who harbours a secret passion to become a singer. This novel has been a bestseller and have managed to inspire thousands of aspiring singers and musicians who couldn’t find courage to pursue their passion for music.
