This time I decide to visit the Chandni Chowk and walk through its narrow lanes, trust me I felt like I’ve stepped into a living postcard from another era, one that smells of ghee-laden parathas, echoes with temple bells, and glitters with bridal lehengas and silver jewelry.

Chandni Chowk was built in the 17th century by Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan, the same emperor who gave us the Taj Mahal. His daughter Jahanara Begum designed the market, and it was once illuminated by the reflection of moonlight on a canal that ran through its center, hence the name Chandni Chowk, meaning “Moonlit Square.”
Centuries later, even though the canal is long gone, the glow of this place hasn’t dimmed one bit.
