Opening of Delhi Eye in Kalindi Kunj, New Delhi on Oct-2-2014 was among the fastest spreading news in the nation for fun ride lovers and amusement park lovers! (For me too..!!) And when this giant wheel in New Delhi was directly being compared to the great LONDON EYE, it raised the level of curiosity in me.
Last week, luckily I had to visit Delhi for an Event and I decided to pay a visit to this giant wheel which is India’s tallest Ferris wheel and 5th tallest Ferris wheel of the world. These points were enough to raise the level of curiosity in me.
Delhi Eye Ride Review: YAY or NAY?
Delhi Eye is situated in Delhi Rides Amusement Park, in Kalindi Kunj. It is about 250ft tall with 36 cabins. Each cabin is air conditioned with comfortable seats. Though, they say 7-8 people can sit in one cabin, but I felt only 4-5 people can sit in a cabin, if they want to sit comfortably.
It took around 45 minutes for me to each to Delhi rides from C.P. They say that this ride ‘Delhi Eye’ provides a
bird eye view of Delhi. They said that you will be able to see monuments like Akshardham temple, Qutub Minar, Lotus Temple, Red Fort, Connaught Place and Humayun’s Tomb.
For me, if judging from this aspect, this ride was a big time disappointment!! I was done with the four rounds of this Delhi eye ride in just 10-15minutes. I was not able to see even a single mentioned monument. Not even Qutub Minar!! My colleagues said that the blur visibility was because of the climate, but for me… this reason wasn’t valid at all. I could only see the under-construction buildings and the lush green fields from the top this ride.
If you are planning to visit this giant wheel just to see these monuments from this ride, then you might get disappointed. But if you are planning to visit it just for your love rides and just for fun, then you will surely enjoy this ride.
I surely enjoyed my time in Delhi Eye. It was just another ride for me, but as I love being on rides, it totally loved it. It is worth visiting once, but I will surely visit it again!!
All in all, its a YAY from my side to Delhi Eye! And for now, enjoy these pictures that I clicked while on the Delhi Eye Ride!! Hope you like them all 🙂
