Raveena Tandon’s Aranyak Review: ‘Case of Nar Tendua Solved but Still..’

Raveena Tandon starring Aranyak is streaming on Netflix. This is an honest review of Aranyak web series.

There is no suspense about the plot as in the beginning, murder of a French girl Ammie happens and people of Sironah doubt that Nar Tendua is back after 19 years.

But what exactly is a Nar Tendua? In this web series, Nar Tendua is a half leopard half human creature who lives in the jungle, eats ‘gumnam guchhi’ (the mysterious mushrooms) to stay alive and kills females on the lunar eclipse.

Aranyak Review

A new SHO Angad (Parambrata Chattopadhay) is appointed in Sironah in place of old SHO Kasturi (Raveena Tandon) but the day her 1-year-long leave stars, a mysterious murder case happens that makes Kasturi re-join the duty alongside Angad. There is also Ashutosh Rana in lead character, playing the role of retired Hawaldar, Kasturi’s father-in-law and the only man who has encountered the Nar Tendua 19 years back. Aranyak Review

The plot has been perfectly weaved making audience suspect every single person in the frame as a murdered including the politician, politcian’s would-be son-in-law, another politician’s son, his friend, a cafe owner, Kasturi’s daughter’s friend and even the Hawaldar sahab himself.

I really liked the attempt to make a fantasy thriller series which is rare to watch. There are many, literally MANY murder mysteries streaming on the OTT platforms but this one is really different and a must watch. Just the way, I really like Bipasha’s Creature 3D. I appreciate when storyteller picks a different topic which is mystical and mythical.

Although, I had some really high expectations from the climax of the season which kind of blew off. I am not giving any spoilers here because if I mention the climax, it will spoil all of your watching experience.

Raveen Tandon nailed her role as Kasturi and so did Parambrata as Angad.

All in all, I will recommend you to watch Aranyak at least once.

In the entire season, you will keep on wondering that why they named the series as Aranyak and not Sironah?

So, what Aranyak means? Well, Aranyak means someone who lives in the jungle. So, it is a term used for Nar Tendua, because that creature lives in the jungle.
