October Movie was released in April 2018, starring Varun Dhawan and Banita Sandhu. It is directed by Shoojit Sircar and written by Juhi Chaturvedi. I saw this movie last night. I did not watched it previously because I felt it was too slow and kind of boring. Yes, this was my first impression of this movie October. Though I am a huge movie movie and watch every new movie but somehow I decided to skip this one. Just like this one, I have not watched Lootera also, starring Ranveer Singh and Sonakshi Sinha. Didn’t get the ‘watch’ vibes in that one also! Anyway, this post is about October Movie and it’s review. Let’s begin with the movie review and then I will give you reasons to watch and ignore.
October Movie Review:
This movie has the most common plot ever – Heroine suffers from some disease and eventually, dies. We have seen this plot in a lot of movies and novels. What makes this movie a little different from the others is the series of events that happen before and after the main incident. At times I found the movie slow, but I guess that’s how this movie was intended to be!
Hospital scenes, conversations between Dan (Varun) and Shiuli (Banita), Autumn season in the mountains, all this makes this movie very interesting.
The question “Where is Dan?” plays a very important role in the movie as Shiuli asks this before she slips off and is hospitalised. Dan wants to know the reason, and because of this, he starts being with her. But soon likes to visit her, comfort her and take care of her. Another important character is of Shiuli’s mother Vidya played by Gitanjali Rao.
This movie discusses as aspect to how do people deal with long-standing illness and that of the prospect of death?
Varun managed to depict Dan’s character with his body language, looks and the boyish charm but at times, his dialogue delivery was not apt. Banita has spoken less in the movie but served the purpose of the character well.
Pace of the movie is indeed slow and at times, start to make you feel bored but then again, catches up well and you want to see what happens next. Though, most of the scenes and what’s going to happen in the movie were predictable.
This is a love story for sure, but has a different perspective in it. But then again, we have seen and read this kind of story in many movies and novels and therefore, nothing feels new although the climax is satisfying and makes you feel content after watching it.

So this was my review of October Movie. I would say, if you have not watched it yet, you can easily skip it. I decided to watch it because I was working on this article October Quotes and Sayings and it reminded me of this movie. Therefore, I thought of watching it.
