Korea Culture & Tourism Festival 2017

At Ambience Mall Gurgaon, the people of Delhi\NCR witnessed the Korea Culture & Tourism Festival 2017 on the 25th and 26th of November. This extravaganza organized by the Korea Tourism Organization was by far the most amazing experience for me this year.

Inaugurated by Mr. Min Min Hong – Executive vice president of International Tourism of Korea Tourism Organization, this festival showcased Korea’s culture and heritage and also gave me an opportunity to learn about the famous tourist destination of South Korea, delicious Korean delicacies and its rich historic culture.

There were various dignitaries who graced the occasion with their presence. Some of the well-known names from India as well as Korea made this event an out and out success. To name a few:

Mr. Min-Hong Min: Executive vice president of International tourism of Korea Tourism Organization, Mr Kyung-Han Kim: Minister Counsellor of embassy of Republic of Korea to India, Mr Sang-Soo ku: Chairman of Korea Association in India, Mr Suman Billa: Joint Secretary, Ministry of Tourism Government of India, Mr. Guldeep Singh Sahni: Outbound Tour Operators Association of India, Mr. Rinchin Tshering, General Manager Commercial, Air India, Mr. Satish Sharma Secretary General, India Korea Friendship Society.

The festival kept me engaged with multiple interesting activities such as face/mask painting, Hangeul calligraphy, video gallery depicting the artistic sight of Korea as well as other cultural assets. It also included various live food counters that served freshly made Korean dishes like Dak Gangjeong, Kimchi Jeong, Gimbap and many more.

The stunning stage performances by Korean artists left the audience spell-bound. Nanta (Non – verbal performance) and the popular B-Boying group Gamblerz Crew took entertainment to another level. What a sight I must say!
The world renowned Korean skincare products brand Innisfree even distributed free samples and conducted free makeup sessions to give the audience a fair glimpse of the Korean Beauty (K-Beauty) regime. Tourists and residents of Delhi\NCR gathered, posed and clicked Korea perfect pictures at the photo booth wearing traditional Korean dress, Hanbok and the tech savvy lot were mostly seen around the exclusive VR zone where you could get a glimpse into Korea virtually.

Dignitaries representing regional tourism boards for South Korea and related organizations such as Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, Busan Metropolitan City, Busan Tourism Organization, Jeollabuk Do, Incheon International Airport Corporation and Visit Korea Committee were also present to support and promote the festival.

In these two eventful days, leading Korean Tourism Organization and travel partners came together under a single pavilion to provide Indian audience with authentic information about travelling to South Korea. It displayed the rich amalgamation of ethnicity and modernity. With India being among the nations known for its booming foreign travel sector, this festival will surely boost travel to Korea and build amicable bonds between India and South Korea.

This year, my plan is to save enough to take a trip to this wonderful place especially Busan and experience the best of exotic Korea with my friends. If you too want to indulge, book your vacay to South Korea too and experience a journey of your lifetime.
