I am writing this with so much excitement has with my trip to KeeKoo Kanatal, I ticked-off one of my travel resolutions for 2023.
Kanatal is a small quaint town in Uttarakhand that is just about 7 hours drive from Delhi and 3 hours drive from Dehradun. This place known for its pristine beauty, panoramic view of majestic Himalayas and adventure activities. This Garhwali hill station is a perfect place for escaping the chaotic city life and pollution.
I stayed at the KeeKoo Stays in Kanatal.
KeeKoo Kanatal Hotel Review:
KeeKoo Stays in Kanatal offer luxury glamping experience. Glamping is a form of camping but with all the amenities of a luxury hotel. Trust me, I’ve become fan of glamping after my experience with KeeKoo Kanatal.
Look at the beautiful geodesic domes and the view behind it!
Isn’t it beautiful?
Trust me when I say this, the photos are not doing justice to what I saw in real. It was AMAZING!
Kanatal is very cold in winters. It snows there heavily and because of this, I was really worried as I catch cold easily. But the glamps were so nice and cozy and I can’t stop admiring it.
This was my dome aka glamp.
It has all the required amenities like comfy bed with cozy bedding, coffee-tea maker, lamps, croc slippers, rugs, dressing table, gyser and cupboards. Considering the cold climate, they had 2 room heaters and an electronic blanket. These arrangements were enough to make the room nice and cozy. At night, the temperature outside was -3 degrees but inside my glamp, it was so cozy that I slept in my comfy pj suit.
The best part about this was its infinity view. I loved waking up to the view of beautiful Himayalas during my stay at the Keekoo kanatal.
And not just the glamp experience, but the stay was luxury in all senses. There is a fine-dine restaurant offering scrumptious freshly made food. In the dining hall, there is also a small reading nook. The hall too offers a great view of snow covered peaks which made the dining experience even more memorable.
There are options to play indoor and table games as well.
And yes, I did walked on the edges and went behind my glamps to experience the infinity valley view. See!
Although I would suggest you to goto this place just to reset and rejuvenate amid nature as it is a perfect place to chill whether solo or with family or friends. You may visit the Kaudia forest for a nice nature walk. I did and I loved it!
But if you want to explore more, you may got for adventure activities as well. The camps are walkable-distance from the property. You can try rope-walking, giant swings, cycling and more.
Apart from this, you may also go for the jungle safari and might spot a panther or a leopard.
There is also a very famous temple of Devi ma, i.e. Surkanda Devi Temple which is about an hour drive from the property. It requires you to go up the rope-way or climb approx 300 steps to reach the temple.
The highway to Kanatal is really good but if you suffer from motion sickness, you must carry your meds as mountain roads!
Best way to reach Kanatal:
Nearest railway station – Dehradun
Nearest airport – Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun
By road – As I mentioned the highway is good, you may either go by your own or book a bus
Best time to go to Kanatal:
Every month has a different charm, so if you wish to experience extreme cold climate with snowfall then visit during December-January, otherwise all year round is good for moderate cold climate like other hills stations have.
