Recently, the trailer of Ranbir kapoor and Sanjay dutt starring Shamshera took internet by the storm. If you still haven’t seen the trailer of Shamshera, here’s it:
The way this YRF movie is pictured, it is making everyone question if it is based on a true story or if it is a biopic of some unforgotten hero. The trailer has already crossed 17 million views in just 3 days.
So, who is Shamshera? The tagline and the trailer suggests Shamshera is ‘karam se dacait, dharam se azaad’! If you are a Hindi movie fan or watch Hindi movies, I am assuming you understand what the tagline means and I need not to translate it.
Is Shamshera based on true story?
No! It is not. This movie set in 1800s, is about a daaku (dacoit) tribe who are battling for their independence from British Raj. During the time when British ruled in India, there are many tribes who battled against them. This is a work of fiction and there was no real Shamshera. Ranbir Kapoor himself clarified this.
This movie is directed by Karan Malhotra and produced by Yash Raj Films. The lead role of Shamshera is played by Ranbir Kapoor while villain is Sanjay Dutt.
The movie is all set to release on 22 July in theatres!
