Winters with a cold and dry weather can take away the skin and hair of its natural moistness. Due to this climate you might end up having a dry and flaky skin with lips chapped. The people with dry skin are the one who suffers more than the one having oily skin. Make sure that you follow a good skin care routine during winters by preserving the natural moisture of the skin and hair. Here are some important beauty tips for winters.

1. For Face

  • Make sure than you use a soap-free mild cleanser to clean your face. Please do not use sop for your face, as they wash off all the moisture
    which leads to a dry skin.
  • Use rose water, it the natural toner that will balance the skin moisture and would also reduce the pores.
  • Use a light moisturiser for people having oily skin and people with dry skin can opt for deep moisturiser.
  • Ensure that you always apply sunscreen before you step out during the day. Also cover your face if you have a sensitive skin.
  • Keep a lip balm handy so that you can reapply the lip balm whenever needed. Never lick your lips to moisturise as it dries up the lips.
  • Stay hydrated by drinking a good amount of water. This way your face will become soft and even glow.
  • Eat a healthy balanced diet with right amount of cereals, vegetables, fruits and nuts. This will provide the right amount of vitamins and minerals that are needed by the body.
  • Always make sure that you remove your make up off your face before hitting the bed with a mild cleanser or micellar water and apply a moisturiser before going to sleep.

2. For Hair

  • Ensure that you warm up the coconut oil or olive oil and apply it on the scalp and then to the tip of your hair. Massage for 10 minutes and
    keep it for an hour and wash off. You can do this twice a week. This way your hair will get deep nourishment reducing the hair frizz.
  • Use moisturising shampoos and also use conditioners to keep your hair manageable. You can use serum if you have a dry hair.
  • Make sure that you keep your hair tied up to prevent further dryness.
  • Cover your head if you are travelling by a two wheeler also keep your hair conditioned at all times.
  • People with coloured hair should use sulphate free shampoos and also use appropriate conditioner.
  • Dry scalp and dandruff are a common problem during winters. Kindly consult a dermatologist for that.

3. For Body

  • Avoid bathing with hot water as it takes off all the natural moisture from your skin. Make sure that you bathe in warm water. Use a fragrance free body wash with an appropriate ph levels that are necessary for a healthy skin. Soon after bath make sure that you pour some cold water to quickly close your pores.
  • Pat and dry the skin after bath. Immediately apply a good body moisturizer that will keep your skin nourished.
  • Wear layers of clothes to keep you warm at all times.
  • Make sure that you include flaxseeds, almonds and ghee in your diet.
  • Flaxseeds can be dry roasted and eaten in the morning, almonds can be soaked overnight and eaten in the morning. Adding ghee to you meal will work wonders on your skin.
  • Drinking plenty of waters will help you as well as your skin to stay hydrated.
  • Make sure that you use a good hand and foot cream at night before bed. If you don’t have a good cream you can also apply ghee repair the cracked feet.
