Can’t step out for new year’s eve for a party? Don’t worry, here’s how to plan a superb new year party at home. Well, I don’t usually go to new year parties because my birthday is on 31st December and I prefer spending time with my family. And that’s how I am kind of expert of house parties because we never go out on 31st December eve as it’s all messy and crowded out these and I hate it. People yelling here and there, no place to sit in restaurants and God, don’t even get me started with the drunk crowd at the pubs and public places. Anyway, that’s my personal choice but if you are wondering what do to on a new year party at home, then here are some ideas that I love. Just so you know, all of these ideas are tries and tested, so just follow the steps and you are good to host a new year party at home.
Ideas for New Year House Party:
- With family
This is my favourite kind of house party idea. We (most of times) do this only. Simply decorate your living area, order some food from your favourite restaurant and enjoy it while playing games like jenga, housie, monopoly etc. If you and your family is not a fan of board games then you can watch a movie together or dance on your favourite music.
- With friends over video conference
This is fun. I am sure most of you now are an expert of online meetings due to the new norm of work from home? Well, here just replace the work with fun conversations. How to do it? Dress up, grab your favourite food and drinks, call all your friends over zoom or your favourite video conference app and enjoy over good conversation.

- Pyjama party at home
If your friends live nearby, then call them for a night sleepover pyjama party. You can cook or order food from outside and eat at home with your friends. In this type of party, you need not to dress-up well, simply slip-in your favourite hoodie and pyjamas and you are all set for the party.

- Prepare at least a day before – decor and outfits
- If you are ordering your dinner from outside, make sure you order at least 2 hours before dinner time as restaurants are usually busy at the new year’s eve and orders are delivered late
- Stock up the snacks
- Check internet connection
- At 00:00 hours, wish everyone happy New Year and then pray for the new year to bring good health, wealth and love in everyone’s life
