Haridwar is known for it’s divine vibes and holy river Ganga. If you are in Haridwar, you will want to stay in a hotel which is near the river Ganga. What if you get to live in a hotel which is one the shore of this holy river, is about 1.5 kms from HarKiPauri and have divine vibes? Well, I stayed in a hotel which can be described exactly as what I wrote in my previous sentence -Devandi, the heritage hotel.
I have been to Haridwar a couple of time but this time, I stayed in Devnadi -The Heritage Hotel. So thankful to Devnadi for hosting us.
Devnadi is a heritage hotel which was previously known as Ganga Sagar Resort and was owned by famous director/producer Padma Shri Ramanand Sagar ji. This beautiful historic haveli is 150 years old. It also served the Queen of Nepal as her summer holiday home and was known as ‘Nepali Kothi’.
The hotel is a perfect combination of heritage and modern. Where you will get to enjoy all modern amenities and facilities, the decor and interior will help you enjoy the vintage vibes. I loved the rooms as all rooms are perfectly spacious and of course, my favourite was the Ganga Sagar suite.
The super-delux rooms and suite has Ganga view while the other 3 room open to the veranda.
I really liked how they have named the room on the name of rivers. So, apart from Ganga Sagar suite, they have Alaknanda, Bhaghirathi and more.
They have a restaurant too which is named as Sattvik where they serve scrumptious food.
What really impressed me was it’s private ghat. Yes, this hotel has a private ghat therefore visitors like me who are not so comfortable in bathing at HarKiPauri or other common ghats can take a dip here and enjoy their time. I not just took the dip in the river but also spend a quality time working on my next book there.
On their private ghat, they have a small temple where every morning and evening, aarti is observed. This totally helps this hotel get a brownie point.
And oh, how can I not mention their elevator facility. Yes, they have an elevator too which makes it easier to come & go to the ghat.
The location of the hotel is good too. It’s just about 1.5kms from Hari Ki Pauri and main bazaar and you easily get battery rickshaws from the doorsteps of the hotel.
All in all, I highly recommend this hotel for everyone who is looking to experience Haridwar in a very soothing and divine way. It is also budget friendly. For more details, you may visit their Devnadi Hotel official website.
