Looking for a luxurious yet affordable 5 star hotel in Doha near airport? My suggestion will be Crown Plaza Doha (West Bay). Actually I have been to Qatar a couple of times and have experienced many hotels. Though Marsa Malaz Kempinski at The Pearl, Doha and the Banana Island Resort Doha by Anantara till remains on my wish-list of hotels to explore in Doha. Maybe soon! But here, in this post I am going to talk about hotel review and my experience at Crown Plaza west bay and why I suggest you this hotel.
Crown Plaza West Bay Hotel Review:
You know the first time I went to Doha in June 2019, this was the hotel I stayed in. My first hotel experience in Doha and I can say, at first I was skeptical of how it all will go but then, from the luggage helper to check-in staff to managers, waiters and PR people everyone was super friendly. And what made me feel like I was somewhere in India was, most of them spoke Hindi. Once they confirm you from India, they instantly start to talk in India which I found really sweet and warm.
This gives this hotel a brownie point. Yes, I believe hotel staff plays a very important roll in shaping up one’s experience and the moment staff behaving in a friendly manner, it instantly gives a feel good vibe.
We checked-in to our Luxury Suite. The room was spacious and had all the required amenities. See!
Since I was not aware of the type of view that I will get from the room, I missed the ocean facing room but could see the sky scrapper though.
The room service was quick and food was amazing. Same goes for the wi-fi speed. And yes, they offer free wifi. They have a semi-covered pool as well and alongside pool have those private lounges where you can sit and chill or have meetings.
The also have a spa though I did not get a chance to experience it since my schedule was hectic since I was there for a work-meeting.
They have have a massive and well-equipped business centre but since you all know, I carry my entire office with me when I travel (my laptop, hdd, diaries, stationary, phone et all), I hardly use hotel’s business centre.
For international travellers like me, they also have a currency exchange facility which turned out to be a saviour for us.
For pet-lovers, this hotel might not be a good option since this is not a pet-friendly hotel.
Location of this hotel is AMAZING! It’s near the Hamad International Airport. Also, nearest shopping mall The City Centre Mall is just walking-distance away from the hotel.
Also, the amazing Souq Waqif market is just 15mins drive from the hotel. And if you are visiting Doha, you must visit Souq Waqif market to live the vibes of Arabian nights. It’s also an amazing place to shop souvenirs.
My Experience:
All in all, my experience was amazing. I highly recommend you this hotel if you are looking for a budget-friendly 5 star hotel in Qatar near airport.
