Let me begin by saying that both the movies Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui and Atrangi Re have different plots but since both fall under the category of Drama/Romance and I saw both of these movies within a span of 4 days, I felt like clubbing both the movie reviews in one and save your time and tell you which to watch first. I have given some spoilers inside, so if you don’t like spoilers then you might not want to read further. Well in that case, I am linking other article for you to switch to!

Let’s talk about the movies one by one now!
Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui – Movie Review
Starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Vaani Kapoor, Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui is a story of a man falling in love with a trans-girl. Ayushmann has a history of picking movies with different subjects may it be Vicky donor or Shubh Mangal Savdhan etc. This is again a very different subject, something that people hardly talk about and have a lot of myths. Frankly, even I had some myths that got cleared to some extent after watching this movie. Vaani Kapoor as a trans-girl has nailed her role, and far better performance wise from her previous movies.
I saw this movie in the theatre in December and felt that they should not have kids allowed to watch because of some bold scenes and the subject, so complicated. There was a 6 year old boy asking questions to his mom, about the movie sitting right next to me. Felt a little weird.
All in all, it is a very different movie raising awareness on a topic that people hardly talk about. Still there were some serious questions that people have in mind and were not answered in this movie. But I can understand it is a movie and have certain limitations.
Should you watch it? You can! but a one-time watch only!
Atrangi Re – Movie Review
Oh My God! What did I watch! Starting 15-20 minutes were bearable but then it started to get worse when Dhanush finds out that Sara Ali Khan is hallucinating. Come one, everyone can figure this out after watching the trailer, when Akshay Kumar comes riding on an elephant back alone and then blows fire from his mouth. I read the reviews calling this a hatke-love story and giving 4-5 stars. I was SO disappointed with a storyline and the climax. The plot is so interesting that it could have been an outstanding movie but I don’t why they did this to the plot. What a waste of such good talented actors! Apologies if this sounds rude but this is what I felt, no-filter. And that song, chaka chak, it is so cringe-worthy and annoying. I mean the girl is trying on a guy on the day of his engagement and that too during the family function when kids. Who does that? And the final spoiler is that Sara, who is mental patient, is hallucinating that Akshay Kumar is his lover but actually he is her dead-father and in the climax, he just disappears after giving gyan and calling her beta.
There were some really funny scenes but then scenes followed by those killed the essence.
Should you watch it? Sure! Only if you like watch any and every bollywood movie just like me!
So which one to watch first?
Obviously Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui
