Hope you all are doing well. Mumbai climate is really getting romantic and pleasant these days. I am totally loving my stay here! Okay! So, as you have already read the heading… you all know what’s gonna be in this post.
Ray’s Cafe & Pizzaria, situated in Bandra (w), Mumbai is one of the most beautiful food-joints I have ever visited. I have been to so many Italian restaurants, but this one was really different. It has that homely warmth which makes you feel comfortable and it has that cozy environment which gives you a feeling being with a family. And why not? This place is owned by lovely couple Hemant and Rashmi.
6 Years back, Hemant and Rashmi started this place as Ray’s Cafe & Pizzeria. ‘Ray’ is actually taken from Rehaan who is Hemant and Rashmi’s son. How sweet! I like it 🙂
…and you will be amazed to know that this place where this cafe is present, is actually a 150 years old cottage. Imagine, ta 150 years old cottage being transformed into this beautiful Italy-street-bistros inspired place.
See!
I really loved the decor. And the plates posted below are exclusively brought from Italy.
Also, one thing that is really surprising (and pleasant too) is that all chefs have been trained by Rashmi herself. There is not even a single dish on the menu card that Rashmi can’t cook! She knows it all. This is really impressive (and kinda inspiring too… especially those who love to cook).
Coming to the food. Almost everyone loves pizza. And when you get so many good options, confusion is obvious. So, me and Rashmi decided that we shall order 1 of my choice and 1 of her choice.
So, I picked the whole custom pizza. Idea of custom pizza is really good. You can choose the size, the base, the crust, the sauces, the toppings and all.
I order medium thin crust pizza with original cheese pizza, onion, corn, capsicum, fresh garlic, green chillies and sun dried tomatoes.
…and Rashmi ordered something really unique. She order a 100% whole wheat pizza with parmesan cheese along with Cheddar cheese, fresh garlic and tomatoes along with lemon grass dash.
Both pizzas were super yum. (If you want to have a healthy yet yummy pizza, go with Rashmi’s choice)
They also have special vegan dishes. A lot of people don’t get what exactly a vegan is! Well, Vegans are people who don’t eat ANYTHING that comes from animals, not even milk or ghee or cheese. Now imagine a pizza without cheese?
But at Ray’s you will get vegan cheese pizza where the cheese is made using cashew nuts. Also, you can go for a no-cheese pizza and that tastes equally amazing.
Their concept of live kitchen is impressive too! You can see how they make pizzas and other dishes.
There are some more highlights of this place like they use homemade/handmade sauces, imported cheese and are open on all 7 days.
5 on 5 to this amazing cafe!
