Coldplay‘s new song ‘Hymn For The Weekend‘ is out and it’s peppy and catchy! I totally loved it. What makes is unique and lovable (apart from the music and lyrics of course) is that it’s shot in Mumbai and features Beyonce along with Sonam Kapoor.
Hymn For The Weekend by Coldplay is that one song, which should be on your playlist. If you still haven’t watched it then here’s the official video. See!
Ain’t it beautiful? I’m sure now you must be agreeing with me for the fact that Hymn for the weekend is the next chart-buster.
Now let’s talk about Coldplay– the band, because I know most you must now be knowing what exactly Coldplay is?
To tell you all, Coldplay are a British rock band formed in 1996. Initially it had Chris Martin, the lead vocalist and Jonny Buckland, the lead guitarist but later on, Guy Berryman and Will Champion joined the band completing it and turning it into one of the best rock bands of the World. Chris Martin once said that their music is not ‘hard rock’ but it’s ‘limestone rock’. Their genres also include pop, pop rock and piano rock.
They have won 62 music awards so far including 7 Grammy awards, 8 Brit award and 5 MTv music awards. Almost all Coldplay songs are awesome but some of my favorite Coldplay songs are Magic, Fix You, Violet Hill, A Sky Full Of Stars, In My Place, Hurts Like Heaven, See You Soon and Don’t Panic.
…and now Hymn For The Weekend is becoming my favorite too!
I really liked the video for if shows the true spirit of Mumbai. And oh, how can I forget mentioning how cute Chris Martin looks sitting inside a kali-peeli taxi and singing his heart out. The kids playing with colors, as if it’s Holi is something that totally goes with the music.
And here are my favorite lines from the song-
‘Oh, Angel sent from up above
You know you make my world light up
When I was down, when I was hurt
You came to lift me up
Life is a drink, and love’s a drug
Oh now I think I must be miles up
When I was a river, dried up
You came to rain a flood’
What makes this song a peppy chart-buster is, the mix and match of the lyrics with the video and of course the cinematography. I really love the videos which are pictured like this.
By now, I think I must have convinced you to download Hymn For The Weekend because it’s weekend already and all what you need is good music, some me-time and peace!
