Delhi is a city full of places to visit including those of historical interest such as the Qutub Minar, Red Fort, Jama Masjid and all. Apart from these historical places, there are so many other places in Delhi to hangout with friends and family such as Hauz Khas Village, SDA, GK etc. Currently Champa Gali seems to be a new hotspot in Delhi to chill and hangout.
Champa Gali is located in Saket. If you want to unwind after a long week of work or simply hangout with friends, this is one place you should not miss. The place got its name because the cafe Blue Tokai brought in a lot of Champa plants here. So, the Champa plants, Neem trees and wooden furniture installed by the cafes here gives the place it’s classic, old-worldly charisma that is to die for! If you love to click photographs, you are in for a treat for sure.
This newly blooming locale is awesome for foodies because it has some really good food cafes. Also, if you love to click pictures, you will fall in love with it’s Parisian alleys and glitzy labyrinthian setting. Apart from this, you will find some lovely handicraft shops, design studio, art shops, home decor shops. The place has a rustic and romantic feel to it. Previously, this place used to be a lane with cow sheds and furniture workshops and also a forbidden red light area, but now, it has been revived into a gem of a place that is still hidden from many.
The evenings out here are lit with impromptu music jam ups, laughter and fun as the backyards of the establishments here serve as venues to conduct various personalized cultural programmes, laughter gigs, poetry evenings, book launches etc.
Whatever the occasion be, casual client meetings, a romantic date, some alone time to get in sync with your senses or a chit chat session with your friends, this urban village that has a feel of a rural French setup is a perfect place for you. The lane is rather narrow, so while going here you will have to walk a bit from the main road.
These are the must visit places in Champa Gali:
The jugmug thela – a lovely tea shop
Blue Tokai cafe and roastery
Jugaad – a non profit handicrafts shop
Soho Bistro and cafe – an eatery that offers awesome shakes and sandwiches
People tree – a design studio
PhoKing Awesome – a cafe for tasty Vietnamese food
Morellos – another lovely cafe
I have been here a couple of times and I totally love the vibes of Champa Gali. Giving you a heads, if you go by your own car, you might not get a good place to park because Champa Gali is literally inside a narrow gali (lane). So, initially the location was a major turn-off but then the place is more suitable for school and college crowd, so they might won’t mind.
If you are fan of fine dine and classy-luxurious places then you won’t like it!
