Shama Sukhumvit -Luxury Serviced Apartments In Bangkok -Photos From My Stay & Review

In my recent visit to Bangkok I stayed at the Shama Sukhumvit. If you’re looking for a place in the heart of Bangkok which offers spacious accommodation, with a great location, then the Shama is the place for you. Suvarnabhumi Airport is about 90 minutes away via public transportation and approx 30 minutes drive by car.

I stayed in a 2-BHK huge apartment (though I booked 1 BHK but I got a free upgrade, thanks to Shama team). With clean, new wood floors and simple, IKEA-like furniture, the apartments resemble something out of a modern Scandinavian showroom. Both the beds were comfortable though I slept in the master bedroom which had a huge and comfortable kind size bed. Decor is minimal (and beautiful), just a few classy gold leaf emblems on a wall or two, colorful abstract paintings, or silk-embossed throw pillows.

The apartment had 2 bathrooms -one is inside the master bedroom which had a bath tub and shower area separate while other bathroom was a common one and was a normal yet spacious bathroom.

All rooms come with free (though spotty) Wi-Fi access, safes, flat-screen TVs with DVD players, iPhone docks, Sony stereos, slippers, and bathrobes. The living room and the master bedroom has big balconies too. The kitchen had Electrolux appliances including refrigerator, stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, and (an oddly placed) washing machine, plus all of the necessary tools for meal preparation and dining.

Apart from the beautiful rooms, it was the infinity pool that took my heart away!

The outdoor pool on the fourth-floor rooftop is beautiful and its infinity edge extending to the edge of the building over looking at the Bangkok skyscrapers is something that blew my mind off. A few stylish black loungers with metal frames line the beige stone deck, though the pool tends not to be crowded. The rooftop pool is compact but does the job and was always empty when I went, and again it offers a fabulous views across of the city which helps this hotel get a brownie point.

Hey there!

…and at night, the city looked simply gorgeous from the top!

The Shama is designed to function as a temporary home-away-from-home with fully equipped, self-contained apartments. The property has a beautiful rooftop pool with an infinity edge and scenic city views.

The fitness area is huge -nearly the size of a commercial gym, has a yoga studio and meditation space. There is a game room with bookshelves, foosball, and billiards tables, plus a nursery room with plastic blocks and tables for infants and small children.

A buffet breakfast is served daily with several hot and cold items, including a made-to-order egg station. There are 2 entrances of the hotel. One is the front entrance which leads to the lobby while the other entrance opens to the busy street of Sukhumvit and leads to the cafe of the hotel.

I totally loved the location of the hotel. Not because of the food-joints, cafes, pubs and bar situated right across the street but also the major malls like Terminal 21, Siam and other places are within 5kms of the hotel. For children, Nana Plaza Candy Land is a five-minute walk down the road. The Nana BTS Sky train station is a 5 to 10 minutes walk away with access to all of Bangkok. Bumrungrad International Hospital is a 10-minute walk away.

All in all, if you looking for a place luxury serviced apartment for a long stay (say from a week to months) which doesn’t cost you bomb and is location in the heart of the Bangkok, then Shama Sukhumvit IS the place for you. And for me, I came back some serious apartment goals after living here in this apartment.
