If you have read my post about the best luxury hotels in India I’ve stayed in, you must have read that JW Marrriott, Pune is already in the list. Well, it was last month when I was travelling to Pune for a social initiative with Google India (watch vlog/video here), I got a chance to experience the luxury of JW Marriott.
Before that, I have stayed in JW Marriott Sahar, Mumbai and have attended lots of meetings and parties in JW Marriott, Juhu Mumbai and JW Marriott Aerocity, Delhi. This was my longest stay of 2 nights in a JW hotel and I am glad that I made that decision.
This is very fine and luxurious hotel for business as well as leisure travellers. JW Marriott Pune is one of the largest hotels in the city with having over 400 rooms, several dining options, largest banquet hall and of course, the night club.
If you have already visited any of the Marriott hotels, you won’t find anything new here. They too have the shopping zone, Quan spa, amazing pool and a tiny but nice library. But yes, the food truck was a new addition though I didn’t get a chance to try food from the quirky food truck I saw parked in the back yard of the hotel.
My room was on 14th floor which had a city view. By the way, Pune looks really amazing from the 14th floor.
The room was a spotless beauty (as expected) and was loaded with lots of amenities like executive desk, tv, coffee makers, fridge etc everything that luxury 5-star rooms have. The bathroom was a treat as it had a bath tub. (I always give extra points to bathrooms having bath tubs. Sigh!). The only hiccup was ‘that’ zone didn’t have a ‘flush’. If you are an Indian, you’ll understand what I mean by saying this. Rest everything was good!
Also, they have a free WiFi. (Again extra points for that *wink*). What I loved the most about this hotel is it’s decor. I am a fan of classic interior decor which has green and artsy element integrated in it naturally. The artistic show pieces, the rustic and classic decor and the vertical gardens, all just took my heart away.
Spice Kitchen, Shakahari and Paasha are 3 options for you to dine apart from Pune Baking Co which is a cafe, good for grabbing a quick bite and coffee. I really liked the breakfast and dinner buffet served at Spice Kitchen. Though, I really feel that should add some north Indian veg food options too. But no regrets as I had an option of Shakahari which served amazing veg North India & Rajashthani food. Also, they have Paasha which is a beautiful rooftop restaurant. Luckily, it also served North Indian food and therefore, I had a gala time in JW Marriott Pune in terms of my food experience. Oh by the way you must try Salads of PBC, they are perfectly healthy and tasty.
The 24×7 Dining service was amazing. I ordered a glass of watermelon juice at 3:30AM and Pasta arrabiata at 7:30 AM and got both of my orders within 15 minutes. The staff is really nice and friendly.
All in all, I really liked the hotel and I will recommend it to you if you are looking for luxury stay options in Pune.
And now, here are some more photos! Enjoy π
