Aa aa Ashiqui Mein Teri, Ja Ja Jayegi Jaan Meri 😀
This movie 36 China Town was released in 2006, when I was in school. GOD! Been 16 years already! (I feel so old now! Duh-uh!) You know, I was a huge Shahid Kapoor fan until his Kaminey was released. And I used to love Himesh Reshammiya Song as well. Okay! You can judge me for that, but I still do. I mean, secretly you too like Himesh songs right? Remember Namastey London songs? Anyway, coming back to this movie 36 China Town. As it’s lockdown and most of us are watching web series etc., I am spending my leisure watching movies. Because obviously, I AM A HUGE MOVIE BUFF! So, last night, I was changing channels and saw 36 China Town had just started. Its been years since I saw this movie, I thought and decided to watch it again. After all, I had loved it back then!
At first, I felt super nostalgic because obviously, it has so many school memories attached to it. We used to dance on Rock your body Rock your body yeah yeah and Aa Aa Ashiqui Mein Teri!!!!

These days, if they make any murder mystery movie, they have to add nudity and s** scenes in it to make it … Umm! I don’t know! Actually, yes! Why they do this? A good story will sell anyway, it doesn’t require to have fcuk scenes in it.
But 36 China Town is one such movie that I appreciate for it’s story line. I really like the plot of the movie when a murder happens in 36 China Town of the super rich Soniya Chang (Isha Koppikar), who owns casinos and her baby is already missing. She is murdered the day she gets an unknown call by Raj and Priya (Shahid and Kareena) who have found her baby and they are bringing the baby to her.
There are so many murder suspects in the movie including Upen Patel, Paresh Rawal, Payal Rohatgi, Johnny Lever, Tanaaz, Kareena Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor. Police Inspector Akshaye khanna accompanied by Vivek Shauq are the in-charge to solve the case. The story is how cop Akshaye solves this murder mystery.
I really liked the mix of suspense and comedy in the movie. Though, felt Kareena and Shahid were over-acting at times but that’s okay! Itna to chalta hai! At least, it wasn’t like Main Prem ki Deewani hoon. Right?
It’s a good movie to re-watch if you haven’t seen the movie in years. I often re-watch movies when free. It feels good, especially because these days I don’t get to see some real good fun movies. Either it’s too dark to watch or somewhat like Housefull 4 and Kalank.

- Shahid looks so cute
- Aa aa ashiqui me teri, ja ja jaayegi jaan meri (still humming the song)
- Kareena’s outfits are actually good. Can copy 2 or more!
- Akshaye Khanna man! Either it’s 36 China town or Dil Chahta hai or the latest Section 375, you’re fab!
- Accha! It’s an Abbas-Mustan (director) and Subhash Ghai (producer) movie! Hmmm!
- Gambler baba ki Jai! hahah
- Chalein Long drive pe? 😛
- Nice story, can watch it again
