Water is an essential component for health and staying hydrated is always appreciable. The institute of medicine says that men should drink around 3.7 litres of water and women should drink 2.7 litres of water everyday. Here are signs that indicates that you need more water:
You feel tired:
If you constantly feel tired and are sleepy all the times, you need to increase the water quantity in the body. You would have slept for perfect 8 hours, but might still be yawning. Drink more water.
If you are dehydrated, no matter how hard you try concentrating, you will be unable to. If you are reading a book you would end up reading the same paragraph again and again. Your focus will not be there. Take a walk and drink a glass of water.
