As you all know about my BFF Ronnie and about the fact that I always take him with me on roadtrips, you guys often ask how do I manage that!
Well, taking your pet on roadtrip is not a tough task as it seems. I can say this because I have travelled a lot with my Ronnie and I never faced problems. And call it a good luck, but I always got a good (luxury too) hotels where they allowed to keep Ronnie with me in my room. How sweet of them!
So far, Ronnie has travelled to Nainital, Dehradun, Massourie, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Delhi, Shimla, Lucknow, Agra, Mathura, Vrindavan, Chitrakoot, Allahabad… Ummm!! I can only remember these many places right now! I will update when I’ll remember more.
So, finally I am here to share my secret (not really) tips on taking road trips with your dog:
Dogs are your best and most faithful friend to give you the happiness and the entertainment during your short road trip! Taking a road trip along with your favorite pooch will be awesome. But you need to be careful and have some precaution measures to make before you start your road trip with your dog.

Most Important Things To Keep In Mind While Taking Your Dog On Road Trips:
It is important to train your dog to sit inside the car for long in the road trip without disturbing or making noise. So, at first try to take him for very short trip and make him accustomed to be inside the car when it is moving. This is very necessary and your dog will love to be going for long trip thereafter.
Make your faithful friend wear the seat belt inside the car so that he does not move unnecessarily and cause disturbance in driving or to other companion.
Train your dog beforehand to bark or show signs of his emergency in going to the bath room so that he knows well that he should not create unnecessary mess inside the car. You can very easily stop your car and take him outside to make him free.
Carry all the medicines if you find your dog feeling dizziness or feeling sick in the trip. Try to make him sleep inside the car so that both the dog and you feel satisfied while travelling.
Praise your dog for wanting to get inside the car and listening to your order and sitting quietly wit seat belt on. Dogs love to be patted and praised, and they will do as you say to get that appreciation again and again.
Always carry the vaccine and medicine records for any emergency trip.
Give your dog the favorite toy or the chewing stick to make him feel at home. Your dog will easily pass the whole time engaged with those things.
Give him the timely food and water so that he is not left hungry or get dehydrated.
I really hope now these tips will help you in travelling and taking roadtrips with your dog easily. All I want to say is, just be there with your dog like you do at home and play around. I often ask driver to stop the car and make Ronnie walk for a while.
By now, Ronnie is a trained dog and understands how he needs to behave during the roadtrips and outing. I’m pretty sure your dog will learn too! After all, dogs are simply genius!
