So, if you all follow me on instagram & twitter, you must be aware that I was on my tour to Mumbai & Pune which was organized by Indiblogger & Tata Motors.
Alright, this opening introduction sounds tooooo formal and let me tell you very clearly, the trip was not at all this serious. Its fun and really really crazy!
Morning 6:30, I reached the pick-up point that was near to my place i.e. IIT Powai… Not knowing anyone and kinda scared to go on a roadtrip with all people that were totally unknown to me. Frankly, I was just praying that I get at least 1 good company in the bus and I’ll manage to survive the event whole day. You see, it becomes kinda boring when I don’t get anyone to chit chat. I called Ranjit from team indiblogger to know whether I had missed the bus or I am too early at the pick-up point? Ranjit told me that there is still time for them to reach to my place. Then I called 2 two girls who were to board the bus along with me from Powai- Ruhi & Apoorva… At that time, I did not know that who these girls are and what the day has in for me.
After waiting for 15 mins, our cruiser volvo bus came and that was the beginning of something I never had experienced before.
We were first served with breakfast. Actually, it was totally my kinda breakfast. The biggie box had a packet of lays, juice, chocolate, merry cake and few more stuff to munch on. Oh yes, it has a dairy milk silk too! (How can I forget that–). Soon after breakfast started our introduction session which actually reminded me of my college days.
After an hour or two, or may… Duh-uh I don’t remember exactly when we reached this place called ‘Food Track’ !! Oh that’s because we were too busy in giggling and playing inside the bus. But this place was cool, though I did not have anything there as my tummy was already full. And finally, we reached this awesome looking and fab place called Tata Lake House, Pune.
Yes! As you enter you’ll have to drive through an oh-so-beautiful jungle with small lakes and then you reach this place!
We were welcomed by Team Tata and yummy breakfast. — After the fooding session, I took a walk around the Tata lake house and trust me, I did not want to come back from that place. I really wonder how lucky those people are who live and work there. If I would have lived there, I would have made my cubicle right beside the lake. Look at the beautiful backyard of the main house.
Gosh! This was simply breathtaking! Oh, coming back to my journey. So after chilling out for 15 or say 20mins, the introduction session of Tata Nano GenX started which was initiated by the lead designer of Tata Nano GenX Mr.Sachin. He explained how awesome and cool this car is. I really liked the feature of auto-gear transmission and sports mode. Also, the concept of removable hatch/parcel tray at this back was fab! I mean you can keep you stuff on the tray (like I always do, I keep handbags, tissues etc.) and if going on long routes and you have lotsa luggage, then remove the tray and keep your baggage there.
Also, the infinity motif was impressive. It clearly defines the motive of GenX which shall be with you to the infinity.
The head-room and leg-room was surprisingly more than expected. and the design is really cute. It reminded me of Lighting McQueen car from the movie Cars. The front of Tata Nano GenX looks as if its smiling. See!
After all the formalities, our roadtrip across Pune started. We were given with tasks from fans and followers on twitter. Trust me the tasks were really really crazy! One of the task was to do a flash mob dance. =)) HaHa! Yeah, me and my team danced like crazies on the road near TCS highway. That was the most fun and crazy part of the trip.
This video has a glimpse of all the 3 video tasks we did. Rest tasks were to click pictures and post on twitter. You can check on twitter, they’re still there! By the way, have a look at this video below, it has our crazy flash mob dance task!!
We reached Mezza 9 Lounge in Pune for Lunch and within a moment, all our tiredness vanished away. It was cool lounge with cool drinks.
Oh yes, and that’s what we were looking for at that time, cool drinks to beat the heat. The craziness continued even after lunch and we did some unofficial tasks too. Oh yes, I forgot to tell, my team was Team G. And mine was the only car which was surrounded by 3 cars and was being shot by official camera person at every point of the road. Oh, I can’t tell how privileged we felt surrounded by paparazzi and limelight. HeHe! That was cool actually!
So, after lunch and spending lotsa gala time there, we headed back to Tata Lake House where we did our last challenge… that was to drive across the twisted road track.
But I didn’t know that a cool surprise was waiting for us at the most favorite place of the Lake House- Cupcakes, cookies and music! :D/
Yes, when we reached back to the Lake House, snacks were waiting for us. Look at these cute twitter, facebook and linkedin cupcakes! Aren’t they just CUTE!!
After snacks, we met Varun… Lead of Taal Inc. I really think he possess some magical powers as within a minutes of his drumming, all my tiredness and pain just got vanished and I was actually feeling fresh and rejuvenated.
And then came the most exciting part- The Drum Circle.
So, I learned playing this drum and whole of the Team Tata, Team Indiblogger and all the 25 cool roadtrippers (bloggers to be more precise) played the drum together. We learned the Park Music and lots more. The entire Lake house echoed with the drum music that WE played. And yes ‘catch and play’ part was the best where Varun played a rhythm and we had to catch it and play it all together. And then the ‘makers and breakers’ competition. Haha! In this one, always the breakers won. (Of-course ;))) In 1st round, we were the breakers and 2nd round we were the breakers.
This was once in a lifetime experience. And after all this, we were gifted this cool prezzies and finally came the time to depart- the saddest part of whole day. I seriously did not want to come back.
I have been to so many events, speaking sessions, tours and trips… but this was one of the best trip so far. In the morning, we all were dull, nervous and scared but in the end, we were sad because the day has ended. I did not feel that Team Indiblogger, Team Tata or other entrepreneurs/bloggers were unknown, I felt like we all were college students who have went on for a fun trip. π
I am running short of words how happy I am that I was chosen to be the part of this event. All the management were next to perfect. I seriously want another tour like this.
Probably, this post is the longest post I have written on this blog, but trust me… I want to write more but running short of words. I’m having a tour hangover and I am going to post about this trip till I share each and every pic that I clicked on twitter and instagram.
And in the end, I really want to thank Indiblogger (especially Vineet, Ranjit & Saurabh) & Tata Motors for having me in Pune/Mumbai for this event. It was more than just an event for me… It was an experience that I can never forget. It was fun, crazy and truly memorable! π
