Texting a quick response back to work or telling a friend you’ll be a few minutes late seems harmless enough, but not when you’re behind the wheel of a 2,000 pound vehicle. Over 100,000 people are killed or injured each year in accidents where a driver couldn’t wait to send a text message.
The National Organization for Youth Safety (NOYS) and AT&T are calling on all of our nation’s drivers to pledge not to text and drive. For every person’s pledge, AT&T will donate $2 towards NOYS’ efforts to raise awareness about the perils of texting and driving, up to $50,000.
If you had the opportunity, would you do one small thing that could save a loved one’s life? Take the pledge At Causes.com today and share with the people you care about. It can wait – no text message is worth the loss of a life.
