Abandoned Mystic Ross Island, Andaman & Nicobar Island

Hello!

How are you all? I am pretty sure today you are going to love this post, if you are adventurous! Ross Island reminded me of the movie Gumnaam! The ruins in Ross Island are
somewhat similar to the ruins shown in that movie. Yes, it was mystic, it was abandoned and at times, it was very scary!

Ross Island is situated 2 kms (approx) from the Port Blair, Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The way to Ross island from Port Blair is simply amazing. Ross Island can be reached only by the boats which are booked from the Rajiv Gandhi Water Sports Complex. Enjoying sunbath, sunset, sunrise and mind refreshing is what makes my visit to the rose island so memorable.

The island is the house of deers which you can easily see roaming around you. The green beauty of island is truly mesmerizing.

This island was home to the Britishers when they ruled the Andaman & Nicobars for almost 100 years. It is now a ruin reminiscent of the time gone bye.

Previously, the island was of 200 acres but after Tsunami in 2005, it has been reduced to only 65 acres.

Roaming around the ruins of Chruch, Chief commissioner bung, temple, super market and few offices and house ticks history in your head making you feel truly mesmerized. There is an old graveyard too, that was really scary… The old ross pond looks creepy too. It is like rediscovering a jungle-clad lost city.

You can play with deers, peacocks and rabbit freely and as much as you want. You can experience nature at its best.

I seriously enjoyed being there. The calm and peaceful atmosphere is truly wonderful. Night staying at that island is not allowed, although you have a full day to enjoy and roam there. And a spending a day in Ross Island is enough to make a remarkable and memorable place in your heart and mind.
